Microdermabrasion is a system that allows a jet of inert, natural, mineral crystals (Corundum Powder) to be brushed onto the surface of the skin where it abrades dry, dead or redundant cell tissue with little trauma, but with high precision which had been unattainable with other techniques.
It is most beneficial for aging skin (fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots/pigmentation), those with acne (acne scars, congested skin, enlarged pores, blemished skin), and devitalized skins (dull skin, thickened skin, or brown spots/pigmentation).
Micro-dermabrasion has fared somewhat better in results on very fine wrinkles and "round-the-mouth" lines and is an acceptable medical procedure - but a very progressive engineering company in Florence, Italy decided to improve upon this method - inventing a unique approach under the category of "Controlled Micro-dermabrasion".
The dead skin cells, along with the crystals is immediately "sucked" or vacuumed back into the sterile glass hand piece which in turns, flows back through soft, plastic tubes to the aspirator - which provides both the force of velocity of the crystals against the skin and the reverse removal of the skin cells by section. All of this activity is performed in seconds - allowing the therapist to move in precise patterns. The therapist has total control over the velocity force of the crystals and also the suction force, which can increase the abrasion to a progressive deeper level.
What to Expect After Treatment: The skin may feel tight as if exposed to the sun or wind for a while after treatment; some skin may peel. Keep the skin well-moisturized with the proper products as advised by your esthetician.
